Duties
- Co-Teach
- Design and execute innovative, age-appropriate lesson plans that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional skills.
- Develop curriculum tailored to individual child needs, including special education and early intervention strategies.
- Manage daily classroom activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for toddlers and preschoolers.
- Implement behavior management techniques to encourage positive social interactions and emotional regulation.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns through meetings or written updates.
- Maintain accurate records of child development progress, standardized testing results, and incident reports in compliance with mandated reporting laws.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan classroom activities, assessments, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards by maintaining first aid and CPR certifications and following childcare regulations.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with young children in preschool or childcare settings.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and early childhood education best practices.
- Proven classroom management skills to foster a positive learning environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention programs, and behavior management strategies.
- Skilled in lesson planning that integrates literacy education, math concepts, physical activity, and social-emotional learning.
- Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young learners is a plus.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety procedures.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in childhood development or preschool teaching are preferred.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learners including toddlers and children requiring additional support.
