At World Champion Taekwondo in Plainfield, Illinois, martial arts is a way of life that transforms students into confident, disciplined leaders. Directed by Master Tae Hyung Kim—a 2004 Olympic Coach for the Philippines with over 30 years of elite professional athlete and sparring coaching experience—our dojang is one of the Midwest’s premier academies. We pride ourselves with a thriving community, an energetic student base from Little Tigers (ages 4–5) to national competitors, and a track record of producing championship-caliber martial artists.
Now we are growing. We are looking for one exceptional instructor to grow with us. This is a salaried, full-time career with a defined path to leadership, elite mentorship, and long-term financial upside.
THE ROLE AT A GLANCE
- Position: Full-time, salaried position starting August 2026
- Elite Mentorship: Work and train directly under a former Olympic Coach to refine your own sparring, coaching, and learn business skill sets.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Saturdays 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

WHAT YOUR WEEK LOOKS LIKE
- Lead dynamic, high-energy classes for all age groups (ages 4–5 through teens).
- Demonstrate sparring drills, techniques, forms, and breaking at a level that inspires.
- Keep engagement and retention high
- Build trusting relationships with parents as the warm, professional face of the dojang.
- Prepare students for belt testings, high-level tournaments, and demonstrations.
- Work alongside Master Kim on programming, enrollment growth, and dojang operations—the foundation of your Partnership Track.
COMPENSATION & CAREER TRAJECTORY
Earn Now:
- Base Salary: $40,000 – $50,000, commensurate with experience.
- Quarterly Performance Bonuses: Paid every 3 months, tied directly to student retention and growth milestones. When the school wins, you win.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Certified Black Belt or higher.
- Proven experience coaching Taekwondo, with a strong understanding of competitive sparring drills and youth engagement.
- Exceptional confidence and public speaking presence in front of large classes.
- Highly skilled at building relationships with both children and parents.
- Diligent, hardworking, and loyal—looking to join a tight-knit team for the long haul.
- Basic English proficiency mandatory; familiarity with basic Korean dojang terminology highly preferred.
- Open to visa sponsorship or transfer for elite international candidates.
