What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Workwhile?
Maintenance technician needed to fill in shifts. We’re looking for skilled Maintenance Technicians to pick up shifts at professional facilities. These roles involve preventative maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of equipment and property grounds.
NOTE: We are looking for workers for PART-TIME fill-in shifts, NOT for full-time positions.
ALSO, this position is for a company that contracts with WorkWhile, and finds workers through their portal. In order to be considered for the position you will need to download the WorkWhile app and create a profile. Then you will be asked to schedule and participate in a 30-minute phone interview with the hiring manager.

What You’ll Do:
- Perform equipment installation, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
- Prepare and maintain vacant units and shared spaces.
- Collaborate with vendors and peers to complete maintenance projects.
- Maintain tools, parts, and supplies in good condition.
- Experience with Yardi or similar app preferred.
YOU MUST HAVE 3 YEARS MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED). YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN TOOLS (see list below).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (kneeling, bending, etc.).
- Able to communicate effectively in English.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Must be dependable, respectful, and safety-focused.
- Experience with Yardi or similar app is preferred.
TOOL LIST(REQUIRED):
Hammer, screwdrivers (Phillips slotted), crescent wrench, channellock pliers, Allen wrench, utility knife, flashlight, nut driver set, ¼” socket set, star bits, cordless drill, tape measure.
No Tobacco Policy: ABSOLUTELY NO TOBACCO USE OR VAPING ALLOWED before or during work. These are cancer treatment facilities — respect and cleanliness are essential.
Attire & Grooming:
Collared shirt (no logos), long pants, closed-toed shoes required. Professional, clean appearance
Schedule:
May be short notice - 4-8 hours prior to a shift
