A progressive, award-winning K-8 charter school in San Carlos, CA, is seeking a full-time Middle School Mathematics Educator for the upcoming school year (2026-2027). The expected start date is 8/14/26. 

The school curriculum is centered on research about learning and the grouping of students. All instruction will be based on the constructivist learning theory and multiple intelligence theory. Students are engaged in hands-on learning everyday. Educators create their own curriculum, which is structured around integrated thematic units. The school is resource-based (no textbooks) and instructional practices promote learning in multi-age classroom settings with two grade levels of children in one classroom. Except 8th grade.

Salary Range is between $63,960-$118,326 and is commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will work in a team with other 6th - 8th grade educators to provide an inquiry-based, hands-on approach to educating students in a multi-age setting.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, and document Mathematics academic curriculum in connection to Common Core State Standards 

• Engage in constructivist teaching strategies

• Plan and lead social-emotional learning curriculum

• Design, implement, and coordinate project/problem-based learning with middle school team

• Collaborate with colleagues, families, and learners

• Act as Advisor for 20 – 30 learners

• Support and attend IEPs, Student-Parent Conferences, etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree

• 2 years of classroom teaching experience

• Valid California Single Subject Mathematics Credential*

• English Language Learner Authorization

• Valid TB Assessment

• Experience managing small group learning and differentiated instruction, preferred

*Candidates with valid CA multiple-subject credentials and a willingness to obtain Mathematics authorization will be considered
