What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Estimator position at Worksource Douglas?
This is a customized recruitment. The employer has requested that WorkSource prescreen any potential candidates. To be considered for this position, please email your resume to evie.c.thomas@employ.oregon.gov
We are looking for a driven, detail-oriented Sales Estimator to join our Sales team.
This is a high-visibility, high-accountability role with real earning potential. You own the full sales cycle - from first contact through the signed contract to final collections - and your success is measured in conversion rate, estimate accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
This is a more white-collar, client-facing role than our field production positions - but it's not a desk job either. It's a genuinely fun hybrid of sales, operations, and desk work: one hour you're building an estimate or working the phones with an adjuster, the next you're climbing into an attic or crawlspace to document damage firsthand. We also want someone who's comfortable leaning into AI tools to work faster and smarter, rather than doing everything the slow, manual way.
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond promptly to commercial and residential property damage leads - all leads contacted within 30 minutes of assignment during business hours
* Conduct thorough on-site inspections - including attics, crawlspaces, and other tight spaces - and document losses with photos and measurements
* Develop an accurate Scope of Work for mitigation, mold, and reconstruction projects
* Build complete, profitable Xactimate estimates that meet company guidelines
* Present scope and pricing clearly and confidently to customers; secure signed contracts, work authorizations, and deductibles before work begins
* Review carrier estimates against company scope, negotiate pricing and scope with adjusters and carriers, and prepare supplements with supporting documentation as
needed
* Advocate for the customer's full and proper restoration while protecting company margin
* Hand off signed jobs cleanly to the appropriate production manager with complete documentation
Requirements:
* GED or Diploma
* Valid Driver's License
* Xactimate estimating experience required
* 1 year experience in or a combination of experience in restoration, construction, or the insurance industry - this is not an entry-level role, and real experience in one of these fields is the best predictor of success here
Skills & Preferred Qualifications:
* Insurance claims or adjusting experience strongly preferred
* Proven sales experience with a track record of closing deals
* Strong negotiation skills and confidence presenting to customers, adjusters, and carriers
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in the field
Pay: $60,000 base uncapped, tiered commission on closed and collected projects - potential target earnings of roughly $100,000-$110,000 based on this role's projected $2.5M in annual production.
