Job Overview
This position is responsible for quality customer service, inventory control, ordering apparel, footwear, and apparel accessories, merchandising, creating and distributing advertisements, conducting department audits, stocking and rotating merchandise, and being knowledgeable in all aspects of apparel and footwear department. The selected candidate will use point of sale cash registers, electronic scanners, and related equipment to conduct monetary transactions with customers.
Responsibilities
Greets customers as they enter the location to make them feel welcome.
Provide accurate product information to customers in person and over the phone.
Creates purchase orders and SKUs and provide to receiving department to verify counts.
Processes account payments, purchases, returns, and exchanges according to store policy.
Assists customers in locating various products, resolving complaints, and answering questions.
Colorize and stylize merchandise product according to handing standards.
Maintain store stock displays and product in a neat and organized manner to meet sales goals.
Place prices or descriptive signs on backdrops, fixtures, merchandise, or floor.
Orders apparel department merchandise based on sales trends, supply availability, and pricing.
Make department decisions for current and future advertisements.
Coordinate department activities with apparel cashiers.
Remove debris from the floor as needed to maintain the cleanliness of the department.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Excellent customer service skills.
Attention to detail.
Operate available equipment, such as: computers, cash registers, calculators, and scanners.
Basic mathematical skills, as needed, to make change and give refunds accurately.
Become knowledgeable about company’s products and services, and customer-related policies, to make proper recommendations of products and services sold.
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with employees and customers in a friendly and approachable manner.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Familiarity with farm and ranch products and livestock is highly desired.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking
Bending, twisting, stooping, and kneeling required frequently to rearrange merchandise and verify stock levels.
Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
May need to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
Perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
Load apparel and footwear supplies merchandise from pallets to the salesfloor.
