In-Person ESL Instructor Needed Immediately at Streetsboro OH

Get your foot in the door with Workplace Languages! My name is Ed Rosheim of a company called Workplace Languages - https://www.workplacelanguages.com - based in the Twin Cities. We specialize in online and onsite language training for companies throughout the US & globally, translations and multilingual voiceovers, as well as creating work-specific functional bilingual training tools.

We are currently looking for one very enthusiastic, qualified, and experienced ESL (English) instructor to teach 1 class at a local company in Streetsboro, OH. You will be teaching work-specific and conversational English to adult employees at this company.

The classes will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays for 8 weeks. Both classes will be taught from 1:15pm-2:45pm EST. Classes start on June 9th.

The instructor will also need to be trained and commute on-site to facilitate our language proficiency test in April.

They will be testing on May 7th from 1:15-2:45.

Workplace Languages will provide a basic ESL curriculum, but we are looking for in-person instructors who are qualified & committed to developing curriculum and materials that meet the specific needs of the company.

Requirements:

• Please submit a cover letter & resume.
• You will be required to teach one of our representatives a brief sample lesson over Microsoft Teams OR submit a teaching demo video via email.
• Education Level: Must have an MA in ESL, English, or a related field.
• The class meets on Tuesdays & Thursdays starting on June 9th for 8 weeks. Classes last 90 minutes.
• Classes will be from 1:15pm - 2:45pm EST
• Instructor must facilitate our language proficiency test on the dates above.
• We will only interview qualified candidates who can teach during the days & times mentioned. This schedule can't be changed.
• All classes need to be taught Onsite / In-Person at the company in Streetsboro, OH.
• Must be able to develop / customize materials, lesson plans, and learning objectives.

Start Date, Days and Times:

This Workplace ESL course will begin on June 9th. The ESL class will meet on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 1:15pm - 2:45pm for 8 weeks. All classes are 90 minutes long. So it would be 3 total hours of instructional hours per week for 8 weeks – 24 total hours of instruction.

The teacher must be available for all scheduled classes. We are unable to change this schedule as it is designed around the employees.

Workplace Languages will pay $80.00 USD per hour. Along with being paid for 24 hours of instruction, the teacher will also be paid for a Site Visit before the classes start (2 hours) 1 hour for a New Teacher Orientation. So, $80/hr. X 27 Total Paid Hours ($2,160).

The instructor will also be compensated for their time being trained on test facilitation and all time spent facilitating the test. {RATE???}

We will pay 1/3 upfront, 1/3 at the halfway point and at the end of the 8 weeks (3 equal payments of $720). This is an excellent opportunity to "get your foot in the door" with us and have other future teaching opportunities with Workplace Languages.

The successful candidate will be able to create a fun and productive English (ESL) learning environment and will be well-versed in curriculum development and required to help develop curriculum.

Focus will be on a lively onsite / in-person environment promoting conversation in & outside of the classroom. We try to hold grammar to a minimum as much as possible.
