The NBD/AM role is a prominent sales position focused on building long-term relationships with clients and influencers through a consultative selling approach. The NBD/AM will be responsible for driving sales growth by nurturing these relationships in various ways.
Job Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to accurately identify the needs of new customers, enabling the creation of dynamic workspaces. This will be accomplished by fostering effective communication with clients and internal team members to better understand and address any issues that customers may face during workspace creation.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Identifying prospective customer firms and determining the appropriate decision-makers within those firms.
- Increasing sales and profitability by leading the sales process, which includes developing creative and innovative solutions to meet and exceed customer needs. Key responsibilities in this process include but are not limited to:
- Identifying and qualifying the specific requirements and scope of work for the customer firm.
- Understanding the buyer’s pricing goals and delivery requirements.
- Developing a clear understanding of the project timeline.
- Collaborating with all internal departments and team members to meet and exceed overall customer requirements.
- Providing complete and timely communication from proposal to execution to minimize costs, improve coordination, and create an extraordinary customer experience.
- Facilitating customer requests for pricing, specifications, information, and other service requirements. This may involve providing quotes, determining gross profits, conducting cost-benefit analyses, and reviewing finishes and options.
- Exceeding assigned sales quotas and gross profit objectives.
- Collaborating with the Business Development team to leverage relationships with influencers in commercial real estate, architecture and design (A&D) firms, construction, and facilities management, and identifying new opportunities. Key responsibilities in this process include, but are not limited to:
- Attending networking and industry-related events.
- Participating in, planning, or hosting events in our inspiration centers or showrooms.
- Conducting one-on-one meetings or group meetings to promote Workplace capabilities.
- Utilizing company software and technology to continually update both quotes and client-facing activities and providing timely and accurate sales forecasts.
- Identifying new prospective customer firms and the appropriate buying influence within customer firms.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or applicable job experience.
- Business Development and Consultative sales skills with a strong relationship-based mentality.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Articulate and well-accustomed to a client-facing role.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Efficient planning and effective time utilization skills.
- Previous account management experience.
- Preferred two to three years of business-to-business sales.
