We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, support clinical operations, and ensure smooth administrative workflows across various medical settings. Workmed Midwest is an occupational medicine clinic which is dedicated to serving the needs of its companies, employees of those companies, and injured patients. Responsibilities
- Patient care: accurately obtain patient vitals, record physical testing results and take past medical history on injured patients. Assist the provider with various procedures, including but not limited to laceration repair, dressing wounds, placing splints or other orthopedic supports.
- Phlebotomy: Draw appropriate blood volume according to provider orders, locate correct venipuncture site and use safe technique when drawing blood. Practice Universal Precautions, correctly follow order of draw if multiple vials are needed; packaging and shipment of samples; running in-clinic tests accurately, maintenance of lab equipment as necessary.
- X-ray: Perform X-rays as ordered by provider. Correct patient positioning, transmitting images via electronics to designated off-site Radiologist; copying images to CD; maintenance of the x-ray machine as needed. Participate in annual training as needed- ensure all regulations are followed in accordance with OSHA and other outside government agencies. XRAY experience is not required, we will train.
- Willingness to attend additional training certification courses, such as OSHA spirometry, urine drug test, breath alcohol test, OSHA (C.A.O.H.C.) audiogram training.
- Communicate with company representatives for setup or revision of existing protocols according to the agreed upon fee schedule; review all new and revised protocols with supervising provider.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, maintaining a HIPAA compliant portal for contracted companies to access records on applicants/ employees.
- Assists with clinic housekeeping- clean patient rooms, instrument sterilization, ordering supplies as necessary.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations.
- Familiarity with medical administrative support tasks such as appointment scheduling and insurance processing is preferred.
- Follow all HIPAA and Code of Conduct and Compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant and responsible for maintaning CEU's to remain current.
- CPR certification preferred.
- X-Ray certification is a plus.
Workplace:
Possess good communication skills, comfortable with computer use for patient care and various other tasks. Office environment in modern building, off-site visits for employers as needed.
Physical requirements:
Will be required to help patients if injured, up to 50 pounds weight.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
