Overview
Workman Communications is a leading provider of low voltage and communication solutions, specializing in fiber optic, structured cabling, CCTV, access control, alarm, and audio-video systems. As a Low Voltage Sales Representative, you’ll play a key role in driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, developing strong client relationships, and delivering customized system solutions. Your technical expertise and ability to create accurate project estimates will help ensure each proposal meets client needs while supporting company goals. Through collaboration, clear communication, and market awareness, you’ll contribute directly to achieving our sales and revenue objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue bid opportunities through research, networking, and client relationships.
  • Review plans, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Perform site visits to assess project scope and gather necessary details for estimating.
  • Develop and present detailed proposals and quotations based on client needs and bid documents.
  • Coordinate with engineering and product vendors to ensure proper equipment selection and system design.
  • Maintain a current pipeline of opportunities and organize project files electronically.
  • Collaborate with project managers and technicians to ensure clear communication of project scope and requirements.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and project kick-off meetings as needed.
  • Manage change orders, revisions, and client communication throughout the bid and project process.
  • Identify value-engineering opportunities to enhance design and reduce project costs.
  • Follow up with clients after project completion to ensure satisfaction and identify future opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge of low voltage technologies and manufacturer solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in low voltage system sales, estimating, or project coordination.

  • Strong working knowledge of fiber optic, voice/data cabling, CCTV, access control, alarm, and A/V systems.
  • Proven ability to build detailed estimates from drawings, bid documents, or site assessments.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, architectural, and structured cabling drawings.
  • Familiarity with construction processes, bid coordination, and RFP documentation.
  • Knowledge of related trades (electrical, general contracting) and jobsite coordination.

Skills

  • Excellent analytical, estimating, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, APPLE OS (MAC, IPHONE & IPAD)
  • Experience with estimating or CRM/ERP software (D-Tools, Bluebeam, HouseCall Pro, or similar) a plus.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with a professional demeanor and strong work ethic.

Education & Requirements

  • High school diploma required; technical or vocational training in low voltage or electronics preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass background and reference checks.

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
