Line Judge

Job Summary

We are currently seeking Line Judges to join our officiating team, responsible for ensuring fair play and upholding rules during games. Line Judges must be at least 14 years old and will assist referees in managing the line of scrimmage and making important calls on their designated side of the field. The role requires individuals to have proper certification and training through NFL Flag, stay updated on official rules and regulations, and exhibit strong conflict resolution skills. Line Judges will work closely with referees, handle basic calls such as out of bounds, and maintain the field area by monitoring cones placement and picking up trash between and after games.

Responsibilities

• Assist referees in managing the line of scrimmage and making calls on their side of the field.
• Ensure compliance with NFL Flag certification and training requirements, staying up to date on official rules and regulations.
• Continuously participate in training and development courses throughout the year to enhance officiating skills.
• Must attend weekly calls or review call recordings every week when in season
• Attend tournaments and games as needed
• Monitor and adjust cone placement before each game and throughout the game to maintain field integrity.
• Collaborate with the Referee to make calls, but adhere to the final decision made by the Referee on the field.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using hand signals and making basic calls, such as tracking out-of-bounds plays.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the field area by picking up trash during breaks between games and after the last game. Including collecting cones and returning to the field management staff.
• Officiate Lombardi and Shula games independently when required, showcasing strong officiating skills.
• Ensure compliance with uniform requirements, providing and maintaining the necessary officiating uniform.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 14 years old.
• Certified and trained through NFL Flag or equivalent program.
• Knowledge of official rules and regulations and the ability to stay updated on any changes.
• Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to handle disputes on the field effectively.
• Willingness to work tournaments and submit hours for payment.
• Knowledge of hand signals and basic officiating calls.
• Ability to officiate games independently, including high-stakes games like Lombardi and Shula.
• Reliable and detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized field area.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the officiating team.
• Compliance with uniform requirements and a proactive approach to maintaining personal officiating gear.
