Job Description
As a PACU Registered Nurse (Per Diem), you'll play a vital role in bringing that mission to life. Working closely with our PACU Charge Nurse in daily clinical operations, you'll help planning, directing, coordinating, and providing high quality, individualized patient care in the pre-operative period of the patient’s surgical experience.In this role, you will participate in direct patient care including maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment. You'll perform pre/post-operative teaching to patients and/ or their significant other along with managing patient complications, emergencies, preoperatively, as well as postoperatively.
It’s crucial that you maintain a professional demeanor for the patient and staff members, effectively communicate and set a positive patient experience for them and their families. Additionally, you’ll be expected to utilize appropriate services when needed to communicate with all staff members and patients with speech and hearing disorders to ensure the highest standards of patient experience and patient safety.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 1 year of experience as a PACU/Pre-Op RN.
- Computer Skills
- RN License
- Current BLS Certification
- Working knowledge and experience in PACU from hospital or ambulatory surgery center including direct patient care.
- Ability to adhere to work schedule and manage time appropriately.
- Ability to utilize resources in a timely, organized and cost effective manner.
- Knowledge of patient monitoring equipment.
- Must be able to work a minimum of two 10 hour shifts per week to help support department scheduling needs.
