The Accounting Associate plays a key role in ensuring the financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency of the Fixed Base Operation (FBO). This position is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all required FBO accounting activities, including fuel management, reconciliations, and reporting. The role also provides administrative and coordination support to local leadership and other functional teams as needed to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education and/or Experience:
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
2–3 years of accounting or administrative experience with a strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
Aviation or FBO industry experience preferred.
Additional knowledge and skills:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively partner with both local and corporate teams.
Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related Office applications; experience with FMS and/or AS/400 preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately process fuel orders into the Fuel Management System (FMS) and/or AS/400 (accounting system).
- Coordinate the collection, collation, and entry of fuel tickets and related documentation.
- Record daily ending inventories and generate daily fuel close reports within FMS.
- Reconcile fuel transactions, identify and resolve variances, and ensure adherence to internal financial controls.
- Support the completion of required financial reports, audits, and reconciliations for the FBO.
- Maintain documentation and compliance in accordance with company financial policies and procedures.
- Provide administrative support to local leadership as needed, including handling correspondence, scheduling, and report preparation.
- Participate in process improvement and compliance initiatives to enhance accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency across FBO finance activities.
- Perform other duties of a similar level and scope as required by local leadership or business needs.
