Material Handler

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various machines and equipment to produce high-quality products while ensuring safety and efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of machinery, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Location: Doswell, VA

Shifts: train on 1st then switch to 2nd or 3rd shift - Monday- Friday

Pay Rate: $18/hr - $19/hr

Duties:

• Operate and monitor die cutting machines, presses, and rewinders to ensure efficient production.
• Set up and adjust machines according to specifications and production requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment as needed to minimize downtime.
• Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, ensuring they meet company standards.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Record production data and complete required documentation.

Skills

• Previous experience operating die cutting machines, presses, and/or rewinders (minimum [insert experience, e.g., 1-2 years]).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical instructions.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Basic math skills and ability to measure accurately using standard tools.

Essential Job Functions: 

• Staging rolls for rewinder 4 and rewinder 5 using the posted schedule so the rewinder operators can stay rewinding.
• Cutting all of the cores for the orders in the schedule. Ensuring all cores are correct with notches if needed and core plugs.
• Packaging of all finished material off the rewinder per the spec, including any required stenciling. Ensuring that all finished goods get weighed and tagged with a finished goods tag and put away in the correct location in AX.
• Operating all PIV in a safe and professional manner.
• Staging material for the following shift so the next shift can come in and keep running.
• Helping to maintain organization in building 3 and building 1 finished goods warehouse. Monitoring finished goods material for damage and defects prior to shipment.
• Maintaining an orderly inventory of rolls to be rewound and bringing rolls over from building 1 to be rewound.
• Housekeeping in R4/R5 areas and others as needed.
• Keep accurate and complete logs, manifests, and other records.
• Neatly returning material to the warehouse and moving material in AX.
• Learning the operation of R4/R5 to provide relief as needed and possible future position.
• Any other duties as assigned.
