What are the responsibilities and job description for the Career Planner - Transitional Jobs Program (Eau Claire) position at Workforce Resource, Inc?
The Career Planner is responsible for the recruitment and retention of participants into the Transitional Jobs program. The Career Planner will provide individualized case management and supportive services; development and implementation of individualized employment and training plans; establishment of SMART goals; coordination with partner agencies of needed services such as education, training, formal assessments, etc.; development of participant work sites, and on-going follow-up and support. The Career Planner is the primary case manager, has the ultimate responsibility for the case, and is responsible to meet individual performance goals.
Key Roles:
I. Recruitment and pre-screening of potential applicants
II. Provide orientation on available services, career information, and job-seeking skills
III. Provide/coordinate career assessment to assist participants in determining interests, aptitudes, abilities, limitations and training needs, and/or refers to additional assessment as needed.
IV. Assists individuals in developing employment/training plans and service strategies to address assessed needs
V. Assists participants in the implementation of individualized training/employment plans.
VI. Provides participant follow-up to assess progress and assist in job retention.
VII. Provides employer/agency outreach as representative of the Job Center and Workforce Resource.
VIII. Participates as a member of Job Center, Workforce Development Area and Workforce Resource teams to continuously improve the quality of Workforce Development services in the region
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent credentials and experience.
· Experience supporting a team that is working towards specific goals.
· Ability to relate effectively with people with a high level of integrity.
· Ability to identify problems and independently collect, logically organize and analyze information and/or data in order to make appropriate decisions or recommendations.
· Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
· Ability to compose detailed correspondence and routine reports in a clear, concise, logical, and effective manner while utilizing proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and tone.
· Valid driver’s license.
Will provide TJ services in Eau Claire and Clark Counties
Flexible work arrangement after 3 months of successful employment. Travel required.
