Job Overview
The Warehouse & Shop Assistant is an entry-level role whose general duties include cleaning, upkeep, basic maintenance, and supporting daily operations. This position also includes driving company vehicles, assisting with equipment maintenance, and occasionally traveling to client sites as a helper and technician-in-training. Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse and shop area
- Sweep, mop, remove debris, and manage waste disposal
- Keep tools, hoses, cables, and equipment stored properly
- Assist with inventory and asset organization and labeling
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks as needed
- Assist with loading and unloading company truck to prepare for jobs
- Prepare job kits and supplies for field crews
- Assist technicians with shop repairs or equipment staging
- Travel with field teams as an assistant when needed
- Help with setup, teardown, and general labor tasks
- Follow all safety procedures and instructions from supervisors
- Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting, stocking, packaging, and materials handling while adhering to safety regulations and PPE use.
- Drive company trucks/vans for pickups, deliveries, and errands
- Perform basic maintenance on company vehicles (fluids, filters, tire checks)
- Assist with equipment cleaning, inspection, and minor repairs
- Report all issues or safety concerns immediately
Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent manual handling skills with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following PPE protocols.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors on stock levels, safety procedures, and operational updates.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor
- Comfortable working indoors, outdoors, and around industrial equipment
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and work safely
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
