What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Coordinator- Part Time position at Workforce Essentials?
This is a part time position working in our Murfreesboro, TN location. This position requires proficiency with data entry and clerical skills. It will involve working a couple evenings per week.
Purpose and Function:
The Student Coordinator provides a variety of administrative duties in support of the Adult Education program. The position interacts with, provides instructional, registration, intake orientation, and related services fo rpotential and current students as well as faculty on a daily basis. The StudentCoordinator works closely with the Program Student Coordinator to oversee all aspects of the student experience, specifically focusing on ABE, ASE, soft skills, and career training. The focus is on the student transition process that begins with intake & orientation, and continues throughout the student’s educational journey resulting in an appropriate exit plan that includes student’s transition into post-secondary education, paid onsite work experience, or more gainful employment.
General Responsibilities:
· Schedules and assists with student registration, assessment, orientation, counseling, and graduation.
· Works with the Program Student Coordinatorto develop and implement outreach and student engagement plans.
· Ensures that all student information is recorded into database within required time frames.
· Organizes and maintains confidential files, student files, and report documentation.
· Maintains office equipment and supply inventories to include ordering needed materials and supplies.
· Performs general office duties to include filing, faxing, and distribution of both administrative and instructional materials.
· Sets priorities, organizes workload,handles multiple responsibilities, and meets deadlines in a team environment.
· Engages in opportunities to improve and increase technical skills.
· Professionalism in dress, speech, and manners when dealing with students (current and potential), staff, and community.
· Assists with scheduling and scoring State required tests (CASAS and OPT).
· Maintains knowledge of changes in Tennessee Adult Education program.
· Follows Workforce Essentials policies and procedures. If assigned to work at an off-site location, will follow policies and procedures of our partner organization as well.

Required Qualifications:
· High school diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE).
· Strong written and oral communicationskills to include interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Sense of urgency in meeting deadlines.
· Requires professional demeanor and orientation toward accepting new tasks and responsibilities
· Ability to accurately and efficiently utilize data entry software is necessary.
· Proficient organizational and analytical skills.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs to include Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
· Ability to operate general office equipment (fax, copier, scanner, multi-line phone system)
· Must attend orientation and security training prior to working if assigned to work in a correctional facility.
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:
· Experienceworking in an Adult Education environment.
· Knowledgeof electronic mail system.
· Effectivelycoordinate the flow of information both internally and externally.
· Maintainsclass, staff, and event schedules.
· Establishes and maintains paper and electronic filing systems.
· Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, maintain vehicle insurance and possess a good driving record.
Position Type & Expected Hours of Work:
This is a part time, hourly position. Hours of work are dependent on class schedules, Monday through Friday. This position requires a flexible work schedule. Some evening hours may be required
