Position overview
The Healthcare Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing multiple healthcare-focused workforce programs across the region. This includes managing grant requirements and budgets, supporting enrollment and reporting, convening partners, and serving as a key resource to career planners and partner organizations. The Healthcare Coordinator works closely with Adult Basic Education providers, higher education institutions, healthcare employers, and internal WDI staff to ensure programs are implemented effectively and meet performance and compliance expectations.
This position requires regular regional travel, with at least one day per week spent in a different community or office location to support staff and partners.
Key responsibilities
Program coordination and oversight
Oversee day-to-day coordination of healthcare-related programs across multiple funding streams. Ensure program activities align with grant requirements, work plans, and WDI policies. Monitor timelines, deliverables, and performance outcomes.
Grant and budget management
Manage program budgets in coordination with finance staff. Track expenditures across funding sources and ensure allowable use of funds. Complete quarterly and annual reports, including narrative, data, and financial components, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Partner engagement and facilitation
Schedule, facilitate, and participate in meetings with key partners, including Adult Basic Education providers, higher education institutions, training providers, and healthcare employers. Serve as a primary point of contact for healthcare pathway partners and support ongoing collaboration.
Staff support and technical assistance
Provide guidance and support to career planners and other WDI staff related to healthcare programs, eligibility, enrollment, and service coordination. Spend time in regional offices to support implementation, problem-solving, and relationship building.
Enrollment and data oversight
Support participant enrollment processes and ensure accurate data entry and documentation. Monitor program data and outcomes, identify trends or gaps, and work with staff to address challenges.
Compliance and continuous improvement
Ensure programs remain compliant with state and grant requirements. Identify opportunities to improve processes, communication, and service delivery. Participate in internal planning, training, and continuous improvement efforts.
Representation and communication
Represent WDI at regional meetings, partner convenings, and workforce-related events focused on healthcare pathways. Communicate program updates, expectations, and outcomes clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in workforce development, education, public administration, healthcare-related fields, or a related area.
- Experience managing or coordinating grant-funded programs with multiple partners.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout Southeast Minnesota.
Preferred
- Experience working with healthcare workforce programs or career pathways.
- Experience completing grant reports and managing program budgets.
- Familiarity with Adult Basic Education, higher education systems, or employer partnerships.
- Experience supporting front-line staff in program implementation.
Work environment and travel
This position is hybrid, with a mix of remote work, office presence, and regional travel. The Healthcare Coordinator is expected to spend at least one day per week in a different community or office location to support staff and partners across the region.
Salary Range: $56,500-$58,000 annually.
