Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Handyman / Maintenance Technician to perform a wide range of repair, maintenance, and improvement tasks for residential and/or commercial properties. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of handling multiple types of maintenance work with minimal supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair work including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and painting
- Repair or replace fixtures such as faucets, lighting, outlets, switches, doors, locks, and cabinets
- Perform basic HVAC maintenance (filter changes, thermostat replacement, minor repairs)
- Assemble and install furniture, shelves, appliances, and equipment
- Inspect properties and identify maintenance issues or safety concerns
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce future repairs
- Respond to work orders and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, property managers, or clients regarding job status
- Follow safety procedures and comply with local building codes and regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a handyman or maintenance technician
- Strong knowledge of general repair techniques and tools
- Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform manual labor
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Trade certifications or vocational training
- Experience in residential or commercial property maintenance
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Own basic hand tools
