What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Respiratory Thereapist position at WorkFit Medical Staffing?
SUMMARY:
Workfit Medical Staffing is looking for a Registered Respiratory Therapist, with extensive knowledge, strong attention to detail, compassion and analytical capabilities to ensure meaningful, personalized care for each respiratory patient. Pulmonary medicine that involves the causes, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases affecting the lungs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Patient Care - Review and evaluate history, physical exams, current vital signs, admission and current respiratory care orders for each patient; advise providers on appropriate respiratory care procedure and techniques.
- Planning & Documentation - Initiate and update respiratory care plan for all patients per department policy and procedure; work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to implement the plan of care; monitor and document all pertinent clinical parameters and assessments on all assigned patients; modify treatment techniques based on patient response.
- Education & Communication - Provide and document patient education for therapeutic procedures performed; communicate information regarding patient's clinical status to appropriate members of healthcare team; participate in the instruction and orientation of Respiratory Care team members, students and other allied health professionals.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care
- New York State Respiratory Therapist (RT) license with current registration, including credentials received prior to 9/1993 OR New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician (RTT) license AND National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) active credentials as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
- ACLS certification (current) required within one year of hire.
- Prior Respiratory Therapist experience preferred.

Pay Rate: $1,836 to $2,016
Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (06:30 - 19:00)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
