Reinsurance Claims Specialist I

The Workers’ Compensation Reinsurance Association (WCRA), a nonprofit association providing workers’ compensation reinsurance protection to all Minnesota insurers and self-insurers, is seeking an individual for the position of Reinsurance Claims Specialist I.
Work location: Hybrid (2 days in the office and 3 days telecommuting)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor, document, and evaluate reported claims to assure compliance with statutory requirements and sound workers’ compensation practices.
- Reconcile member requests for reimbursement
- Approve or deny member reimbursement requests
- Establish initial and ongoing claim reserves
- Maintain ongoing customer relationships with members
- Advise and assist members in achieving cost-effective case management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience
- Minimum three years of Minnesota workers’ compensation claims experience
- Ability to interpret and apply Minnesota guidelines to claims
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Mathematical aptitude
- Detail-oriented

Hiring Range $25.24 - $30.29
Pay: $25.24 - $30.29 per hour
