Viable candidates must currently live within commuting distance to Boston, MA. This is a hybrid position (typically 2 days onsite / 3 days remote), which requires working partially in downtown Boston, MA. This position is not eligible for employer visa sponsorship.
The Workers’ Compensation Rating and Inspection Bureau of Massachusetts (WCRIBMA) is seeking a Residual Market Analyst who will work with the Residual Market Supervisor and Manager to become efficient in the Residual Market finance operations to provide data analysis and analytics support. The Residual Market Analyst will also work with the Customer Services Manager to gain a broad understanding of the rules and procedures for processing Assigned Risk Workers’ Compensation applications and ownership rulings.
Notable Responsibilities
- Collect, compile, and calculate information for numerous and various data analysis and analytics responsibilities on a rotating basis (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
- Produce various professional reports and/or bulletins to effectively communicate results.
- Review business change forms (ownership changes, name modifications, and/or existing business sales). Issue related rulings to applicable carriers and agents.
- Process Assigned Risk Workers’ Compensation applications. Create appropriate notices and/or letters affecting coverage. Research internal databases and platforms as well as external websites for needed information throughout the application process.
- Respond to telephone and written inquiries from employers, agents, carriers, brokers, or other types of industry organizations.
- In addition to the responsibilities outlined in this posting, other duties may be required as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, mathematics, or related field.
- Three or more years of data analysis and analytics experience. Insurance industry experience with knowledge of workers’ compensation insurance preferred.
- Strong computer software skills, particularly with Microsoft 365. Advanced Microsoft 365 Excel skills a must (e.g., regular professional use of nested LOOKUP and IF functions and the creation of charts, graphs, and PivotTables).
- Excellent interpersonal, communications, and organizational skills. Professional experience drafting professional reports preferred.
- Strong analytical ability and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, perform well under pressure, and complete projects in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

Salary : $65,200 - $72,000
