The WCIRB performs a number of functions to accurately measure the cost of providing workers' compensation benefits and ensure a healthy workers’ compensation system. Summary
- Collaborating with cross-functional team members, including solution architects, scrum masters, product owners, UX designers, and quality assurance engineers, to develop robust software solutions.
- Writing code and conducting unit tests to ensure the high quality and functionality of software.
- Participating actively in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
- Deploying solutions following DevOps best practices.
- Troubleshooting and debugging software and application issues promptly.
- Providing technical support for software developed by oneself and others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software applications using .NET Core and Azure platform.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following best practices.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system testing of software components.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services into the application architecture.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation.
- Submit code for review to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with established standards.
- Debug and troubleshoot application issues, identify bottlenecks, and propose effective solutions.
Education and Experience
- At least two years of paid experience as a software developer.
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft .NET Core, ASP.NET, C#, and SQL Server or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with the use of cloud computing platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) as an integral part of software design and delivery.
- Familiarity with front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
