As we continue to expand, we are looking for a dynamic, experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join our team. - As a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney, you will represent employers and insurers in workers' compensation claims throughout California. You will be responsible for managing a caseload, providing legal advice to clients, and handling all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Represent clients in workers' compensation claims, including case preparation, discovery, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
- Provide strategic legal advice to employers, insurers, and third-party administrators on workers’ compensation matters.
- Manage a diverse caseload from inception to resolution, ensuring that all client goals are met in a timely manner.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and settlement agreements.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and medical professionals.
- Stay current on workers’ compensation laws, regulations, and trends in California.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the State Bar of California, in good standing.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
- Strong knowledge of California workers' compensation laws, including administrative procedures and case law.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Responsive to client communications (email, phone calls, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience handling complex workers' compensation defense cases.
- Familiarity with the WCAB (Workers' Compensation Appeals Board) process.
