Role Description
The Vocational Adjustment Training (VAT) Facilitator is responsible for delivering structured workforce readiness instruction aligned with Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) expectations and WERC Texas program standards. This role supports youth and young adults 14-22 years of age, including individuals with disabilities, in developing workplace readiness, social skills, and employment competencies necessary for successful job placement and retention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver structured VAT curriculum; including workplace behavior, communication, customer service, and employment retention skills.
- Implement lesson plans aligned with WERC Texas Vocational Adjustment Training Program.
- Provide individualized and group instruction using evidence-based practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation including attendance, case notes, and progress tracking.
- Support students in achieving measurable employment readiness outcomes.
- Facilitate job readiness activities including mock interviews, resume development, and role-play scenarios.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience working with youth, disabilities, or workforce programs preferred.
- Strong communication, documentation, and classroom management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in both in-office and remote settings
- Previous experience in vocational training or workforce development is a plus
