General Statement of Duties
The Student Tour Guide will work closely with the Undergraduate Admissions Department to support enrollment at WSU by providing an elevated visit experience to prospective students and
families and assisting with Admissions events.
Responsibilities
Provide campus tours to prospective students and families during the academic year Lead tours and Information sessions for student groups visiting from college access organizations or local high schools Assist with large events such as Open House and Accepted Students Day (Mandatory) Attend mandatory training in September and any additional training opportunities throughout the year Communicate with family's using our dedicated tour email inbox and potential phone campaigns Occasionally assist with social media projects for the admissions office in collaboration with Marketing Assist with Admissions office work, and aid the flow of the new welcome center
Requirements
Reliability and adaptability is vital since our guides are representing the Admissions staff and WSU as a whole. A Tour Guide becomes the face of the WSU community and is oftentimes the first interaction a prospective student or family may have with the University, thus having a direct and vital role with applications and enrollment. Our Guides must have strong communication skills, outgoing personalities, and willingness to share their positive experiences about WSU. Applicants must have a strong sense of pride and love to meet and talk with new people. As a WSU student Tour Guide you will gain many transferable skills, regardless of your major. We welcome any full-time student, resident or commuter, who has completed at least one semester at Worcester State. First semester freshmen can inquire with Admissions about volunteer opportunities. Preference is given to those students with involvement in other student organizations, clubs, athletics, or leadership positions.
