Job Description Summary

Responsibilities
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Conduct independent and collaborative research and prepare peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and technical reports to disseminate research findings.
- Collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and external research partners in an interdisciplinary research environment.
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to graduate and undergraduate researchers, as appropriate.
- Maintain the lab equipment, document research methods, workflows and data following best practices for reproducibility and research integrity.
- PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry or a closely related field, completed by the start date of the appointment.
- Demonstrated research experience in detection assay development, optical and electrochemical sensors, micro-nano fabrication, natural and synthetic polymers as scaffolds for tissue engineering and sensor materials.
- Familiar with various characterization techniques, including but not limited to, Raman microscopy, atomic force microscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, DLS, among others.
- Experience in mammalian cell culture, gene and protein level analysis, and/or animal studies is a plus.
- Ability to communicate research results effectively, demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, conference presentations, or written research statements.
