The Office of the Registrar is hiring a temporary Office Assistant to help cover day-to-day operations during a period of staff transition. This on-site role is the first point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and supports the workflows that keep the Registrar's office running smoothly.This position is scheduled for approximately 5.5 months, working 37.5 hours per week, with an expected start date of May 18, 2026 and an expected end date of October 30, 2026.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities- Serve as the first point of contact for in-person, phone, and email inquiries
- Process enrollment verification and transcript requests
- Process undergraduate e-projects registration requests (MQP, IQP, HUA) and final project submissions
- Process undergraduate independent study registration requests
- Maintain confidentiality of student records in accordance with FERPA and WPI policies
- Provide general administrative support to the Registrar's team as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior administrative or customer service experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort with Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Experience in a higher education, registrar, or student services setting is a plus
Estimated hourly rate is $21.00/hour, depending on experience.
