Job Responsibilities
- Apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, fixtures, and other structures
- Apply caulk professionally on various substrates including masonry, wood, and concrete
- Repair imperfections in substrates using appropriate materials
- Select premixed paints or mix pigments, oils, thinners, and drying agents to achieve specified colors
- Apply paint using brush, roller or spray
- Perform finishing and detail work as required
- Ability to work overtime when needed
- Dependable and reliable; able to fulfill job responsibilities consistently
- Perform physically demanding work, including heavy lifting, reaching, handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials
- Maintain good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Able to wear required PPE, including respiratory protection, safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats
- Comfortable climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds two and more stories high
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 50–75 pounds
- Minimum 3–5 years of commercial painting experience
- Lead certification a plus
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle to travel to various sites in the DMV metropolitan area
- Comfortable working on scaffolds and at heights
