Worcester Cultural Academy, an EL Education charter school, is seeking a culturally responsive, student-centered 5th & 6th Grade STEM Teacher to join our crew. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that promote critical thinking, ownership, discovery, and joy.
- Set high expectations for all students and differentiate instruction using culturally responsive practices.
- Teach targeted intervention lessons to support students’ academic growth.
- Communicate regularly and proactively with families to support student success.
- Actively support WCA’s mission as an anti-racist, inclusive school, and demonstrate a "whatever it takes" attitude for student achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues, use data to inform instruction, and participate in school-wide planning and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (required); Master’s degree preferred.
- Massachusetts Elementary Education Certification (Grades 1–6) or subject matter MTEL passed.
- SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) Endorsement (required).
- Commitment to team-based, mission-driven school culture.
- Strong problem-solving skills, persistence, and initiative in the face of challenges.
- Ability to make decisions that prioritize student needs and the school community.
- Ability to pass DESE-mandated CORI and fingerprint background checks.
Compensation:
Competitive salary, commensurate with experience; $52,000-$80,000.
