What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions position at Wooster Ambulatory Surgery Center?
Greets patients and all other visitors upon arrival to the Center in a pleasant manner, answers their questions and directs them into the patient care process
Obtains a copy of the patient’s photo identification card, insurance cards and other registration information
Collects pre-determined deposit amount due from patient and returns a copy of the receipt to the patient
Completes EMR Admissions, verifying patient information and correcting if needed.
Assists in coordinating and communicating the location of the patients to family members, physicians and other appropriate individuals
Answers multi-phone lines, being able to answer and direct more than one call at a time, taking appropriate messages and transferring calls in a manner that is accurate, complete and timely.
Ensures patient record has a label of complete information.
Pull old documentation if a patient has had previous visits.
Notifies patients the day before surgery of their arrival time.
Mail and Payment Processing:
Processes patient payments for the center.
Delivers mail each day to appropriate drop off site.
