Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker/Pet Sitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and the ability to provide exceptional care and exercise for dogs of various breeds and sizes. This role requires a responsible individual who can appropriately manage dogs during walks while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Dog Walking / Pet Sitting assignments can be located from Oak Creek to Pewaukee and surrounding areas.
Duties
- Arrive within the noted timeframe to walk dogs in various weather conditions, ensuring they receive adequate exercise.
- Monitor the behavior and health of dogs during walks, reporting any concerns to the office and the owner.
- Maintain control of dogs at all times, using proper handling techniques to ensure safety.
- Provide basic training commands during walks to reinforce good behavior.
- Clean up after dogs during walks and maintain a tidy environment.
- Communicate with office and pet owners regarding their dog's behavior, needs, and any incidents that may occur.
- Assist with additional animal care tasks as needed, such as feeding or administering medication.
- Utilize app to accept/decline assignments in a timely manner, review client profiles to gain an understanding of the pets needs/routine prior to each visit and complete a journal entry after each visit.
Experience
- Previous experience with animals preferred
- Familiarity with animal care practices, including knowledge of animal behavior and restraint techniques.
- Experience working in a kennel or veterinary setting is a plus.
- Experience with pet sitting or providing care for other animals is beneficial.
