Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing to meet each pet’s specific needs and owner preferences
- Handle animals with care and confidence, utilizing proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff
- Maintain a clean and sanitary grooming area by disinfecting tools and workspaces regularly
- Assess each pet’s coat condition and skin health, recommending appropriate grooming treatments or veterinary referrals when necessary
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about grooming procedures and aftercare instructions
- Support team as needed to ensure comprehensive animal care and cleanleness
Skills
- Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of breed-specific cuts and styling techniques
- Knowledge of animal handling, restraint, and safety protocols across various species including dogs and horses
- Familiarty with safety protcols that enhances your ability to recognize health issues during grooming
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy pets or equipment
- Excellent customer service skills to build rapport with pet owners and address their needs confidently
- Experience in animal behavior management is a plus
- Strong animal handling skills combined with patience, compassion, and professionalism is a must
