Responsibilities
- Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately guide cabinet fabrication and installation.
- Use hand tools and power tools for woodworking to cut, shape, assemble, and finish cabinetry components.
- Measure and mark materials precisely to ensure proper fit and alignment during assembly.
- Operate woodworking machines such as saws, sanders, drills, and CNC equipment safely and efficiently.
- Install cabinets, fixtures, doors, trim, and hardware on residential or commercial sites following safety protocols.
- Perform heavy lifting and maneuver large or bulky materials safely on-site or in the workshop.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects aligned with construction plans.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to power tool safety standards.
- Assist with remodeling projects, restoration work, or custom carpentry tasks as needed.
- Contribute to quality control by inspecting finished products for accuracy, durability, and aesthetic appeal.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings related to cabinetry or millwork.
- Strong background in carpentry with specific expertise in woodworking, residential carpentry, trim carpentry, and frame carpentry.
- Hands-on experience using hand tools (e.g., chisels, saws) and power tools for woodworking (e.g., routers, drills).
- Familiarity with woodworking machines such as table saws, planers, sanders, and CNC routers.
- Knowledge of wood construction materials including plywood, MDF, hardwoods, laminates, and finishing products like caulking or stucco where applicable.
- Construction site experience with skills in rebar installation, plastering, metal stud framing or fixture installation is a plus.
- Ability to read construction plans accurately and interpret technical specifications for precise execution.
- Experience working within the restoration industry or on remodeling projects is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to lift heavy materials safely while maintaining proper ergonomics during assembly or installation tasks.
- Handyman experience including door hanging or general repair work will be considered an asset.
