Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Cabinet Shop Helper and Delivery Driver to join our dynamic team. In this dual role, you will assist with cabinet manufacturing tasks within our workshop and handle the safe delivery of finished products to clients. Responsibilities
- Assist with the assembly, material handling, and organization of cabinetry in the workshop, ensuring all tasks adhere to safety standards and quality expectations
- Load and unload cabinets and related materials using appropriate manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary
- Safely operate a box truck or commercial vehicle for delivery routes, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws
- Deliver cabinets directly to customers’ locations, providing professional customer service and ensuring proper placement and installation support when needed
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle inspection records using mobile devices or onboard systems
- Adhere to safe lifting practices during all manual handling activities, especially when moving heavy or bulky items
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers to coordinate delivery schedules, address concerns, and ensure a positive experience
Skills
- Prior warehouse experience with material handling equipment operation such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar tools
- Commercial driving experience with a valid driver’s license for box trucks or larger vehicles; familiarity with courier or load & unload operations preferred
- Experience in delivery driving, including route planning and adherence to traffic regulations; knowledge of DOT regulations is a plus
- Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices for heavy loads
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently; experience with personal vehicle delivery is advantageous
- Excellent customer service skills to represent the company professionally during deliveries
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, moving furniture or cabinetry, and standing for extended periods throughout shifts
