Position Summary
The Transitional First (T1) Teacher supports students who are academically ready for first grade but need additional time to develop foundational academic and social-emotional skills. This role bridges Kindergarten and First Grade through targeted, developmentally appropriate instruction.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver differentiated instruction in early literacy and math
- Provide small group and individualized support based on student data
- Teach and model social-emotional skills (self-regulation, relationships, decision-making)
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Collaborate with staff (K–1, SPED, interventionists) to support student success
- Communicate regularly with families
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education
- Valid Elementary Teaching Certification
Preferred:
- Early childhood or intervention experience
- Knowledge of MTSS/RTI and SEL practices
