Join our dedicated team as a Juvenile Detention Officer, where you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive environment for youth in detention. As a Juvenile Detention Officer, you'll be at the forefront of enforcing rules, managing conflicts, preparing nutritional meals, ensuring a clean and sanitary facility and providing essential supervision to promote rehabilitation and safety.

Duties
- Supervise and monitor detained youth to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
- Enforce facility rules and maintain order through effective conflict management techniques.
- Conduct regular security checks using surveillance systems to observe activity within the detention center as well as exterior perimiter.
- Respond promptly to emergencies by administering first aid or CPR when necessary, and coordinate with law enforcement, fire personnel and/or emergency medical services.
- Write detailed incident reports, detention logs, and activity documentation accurately and promptly.
- Facilitate communication between detained youth, staff, and external agencies to support positive behavior and compliance.
- Assist in implementing security protocols, including access control and perimeter checks, to prevent unauthorized entry or escapes.
- Willing to learn and use surveillance systems, conflict management strategies, report writing procedures, physical intervention techniques, crisis response techniques such as CPR and first aid, etc.
- The ability to handle stressful situations calmly while maintaining professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to de-escalate conflicts effectively.

- Must be willing and able to work any shift including days, nights, overnights, weekends, holidays, mandatory overtime as needed to maintain required minimum staffing levels.
