Position Summary:
Woodward Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Teacher to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing students’ reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills through engaging curriculum.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based education instruction to students in grades 7-12.
- Design and administer a variety of formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages student engagement, collaboration, and respectful discussion.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Incorporate technology and digital tools into instruction to enhance learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to support student success.
- Uphold school policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, or related field
- Valid Iowa teaching license with endorsement.
- Knowledge of Iowa Core Standards and ability to implement standards-based instruction.
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
