We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and compassionate Activities Director to lead an engaging activities program at our assisted living community. The ideal candidate enjoys working with older adults and creating meaningful opportunities for residents to stay active, connected, and involved.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead a variety of activities, including music, games, crafts, exercise, outings, and special events.
- Develop and distribute a monthly activity calendar and newsletter.
- Supervise and support Activities Assistants, including scheduling, training, and assigning responsibilities.
- Tailor programs to residents’ interests, preferences, and abilities.
- Encourage participation and offer individual visits and small-group activities.
- Coordinate volunteers, entertainers, and community partners.
- Work with staff and families to support resident engagement.
- Manage activity supplies, participation records, and the department budget.
Qualifications
- Experience in activities, recreation, or a related field; senior living experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Creativity, patience, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills to prepare calendars, flyers, and documentation.
- Supervisory experience and experience working with residents with memory loss are a plus.
