Reading Interventionist (Full-Time) – Woodstock Elementary School
Position Overview
Woodstock Elementary School is seeking a full-time Reading Interventionist to join our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) team. We are looking for an experienced educator with a deep understanding of evidence-based literacy instruction and training in the Science of Reading. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting student achievement and collaborating with classroom teachers to ensure all students receive the instruction and intervention they need to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Provide targeted reading interventions for students requiring additional literacy support.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and other support staff as part of the MTSS team.
- Support high-quality Tier 1 literacy instruction and differentiated learning opportunities.
- Use assessment data to identify student needs, monitor progress, and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Implement evidence-based literacy practices aligned with the Science of Reading.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with staff and families.
- Participate in problem-solving and data team meetings to support student outcomes.
Qualifications
- Valid Vermont teaching license or eligibility for Vermont licensure.
- Demonstrated experience teaching elementary-aged students.
- Strong knowledge of literacy development, assessment, and intervention practices.
- Training and/or experience in the Science of Reading.
- Ability to analyze student data and use it to inform instructional decisions.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience serving as a reading interventionist, literacy specialist, or instructional coach.
- Knowledge of MTSS frameworks and best practices for tiered intervention.
- Experience supporting teachers through coaching, modeling, and co-teaching.
