  • Auditory Monitoring: Conduct daily Ling Six sound checks (/a, u, i, m, s, sh/) to monitor hearing aid efficacy and identify listening fatigue in noisy environments.
  • Environment Management: Minimize background noise during instruction and ensure preferential seating near the primary speaker.
  • Instructional Scaffolding: Implement visual supports, including Boardmaker symbols and "first/then" boards, to assist with transitions and daily routines.
  • Social-Emotional Support: Model "emotion language" and replacement communication (e.g., “help me,” “stop”) to help the student navigate peer interactions and reduce frustration.
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with the Teacher of the Deaf (TOD), Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), and Educational Audiologist Team to implement IEP goals.
  • Data Collection: Assist the SLP and Special Educator by documenting the student’s progress in producing age-appropriate phonemes and following multi-step directions.
  • Leadership: Teach ASL to students and educators in the school.
  • Creative Presentation: Use skills in digital visual presentations to create engaging materials that support the student's learning and persistence.
  • Professionalism: Maintain confidentiality and follow the EIPA code of ethics while participating in IEP meetings and parent-teacher consultations.
