Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items following established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Assist in meal preparation by slicing, dicing, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to support food production.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to meet food safety and sanitation standards.
- Support the team during busy service hours by ensuring timely food preparation and plating.
- Follow all safety protocols related to food handling, storage, and kitchen operations to prevent contamination or accidents.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal assembly and address any issues promptly.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or catering environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and food safety management practices.
- Skilled in operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, slicers, and mixers.
- Strong understanding of food industry standards including safety regulations and proper food handling techniques.
- Experience with meal preparation for large groups or catering events is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and serve guests professionally.
