POSITION TITLE: Safety Attendant (Non-Exempt)
ROLE: This is a highly responsible position in which the associate will live onsite and oversee the property after hours by making rounds through the evening, responding to guest's needs, and acting as manager on duty after hours. Assures operations are according to Brand Standards. This is a part-time position and required to live on property.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position working up to (5) days per week with hours varying upon property needs 27 physical inspections of the property are required per week at various times set forth by the general manager and based on the property. You can be asked to complete more rounds as needed based on the demands of business. The work schedule is up to (5) days per week.
The hours (on call) are: Monday –Thursday: 8:00 pm to 8:00 am - Friday 8:00pm to Saturday 10:00am - Saturday 4:00 pm to10 am Sunday - Sunday 4 pm through Monday 8:00am.
Incident Clock Response -The Safety Attendant responds to any type of problems or issues that occur during on-call hours. The Safety Attendant is required to clock in and out for all incidents. Give tours to potential guests and be able to close the sale. Check in after-hours guests and walk-ins with or without reservations. Conduct a night system audit. Ensure the security needs of the property and guests are met. Respond to requests from immediate supervisor. Wash, dry and fold laundry as directed by management. Administration of keys. Know property emergency procedures. Familiarize yourself with area attractions and services in order to accommodate guest's needs. Suggest/Sell services and amenities in order to accommodate guest's needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: (Background Check Required)
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Experience in customer service but hotel operations preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:1 year of related experience.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure, with strong organizational time management skills and problem solving skills. Proactive and aggressive in solving problems, experienced in recognizing and taking action on opportunities and developing a strong team.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
TALKING: Ability to speak effectively and communicate clearly.
AVERAGE HEARING: Ability to hear average conversations at a standard level in an office environment
REPETITIVE MOTION: The employee is regularly required to move about the hotel throughout all departments. May also use a variety of tools and equipment.
FINGER DEXTERITY: The employee is regularly required to use hands to type, and operate equipment and machinery.
AVERAGE VISION: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds occasionally and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently, as well as stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat, and walk for long periods of time. Long hours sometimes required, including nights and weekends.
WORKING CONDITIONS: General hotel environment with climate control and adequate lighting. Position will also require some outside work.
MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization. Being able to differentiate between performance standards required and performance standards not meeting requirements.
MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and common fractions.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to communicate clearly.
