Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers with lesson implementation across subjects such as literacy education, math, and curriculum development.
- Support students with special needs, including those with autism or disabilities, by adapting activities and providing tailored assistance.
- Help manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social skills, emotional development, and early childhood education principles.
- Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch periods, and other non-instructional times to ensure safety and positive interactions.
- Support classroom organization by preparing materials, setting up learning stations, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Collaborate with teachers on lesson planning and individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet diverse student needs.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and caregivers to foster a collaborative educational community.
- Assist in implementing Montessori or preschool curricula that emphasize hands-on learning and developmental milestones.
- Contribute to creating an inclusive environment that supports working with children from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school settings or similar environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and early childhood education practices.
- Experience with special education strategies, behavior management techniques, and working with children with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Strong communication skills to effectively support students’ needs and collaborate with staff and families.
- Ability to assist in lesson planning for literacy education, math activities, toddler care, and curriculum development aligned with educational standards.
- Familiarity with classroom management tools and techniques to maintain an engaging learning atmosphere.
- Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for fostering a positive educational experience for young learners.
- Certification or training in early childhood education or related fields is a plus but not mandatory.
