What are the responsibilities and job description for the LEAD PASTORAL RESIDENT position at Woodside Bible Church?
Woodside Bible Church is seeking a Lead Pastoral Resident to join our two-year residency program designed to develop and prepare future lead-level pastoral leaders. This role provides hands-on ministry leadership, intentional coaching, and immersive training alongside experienced pastors. The goal of the residency is to prepare the Resident to be job-ready for a Lead Pastor role outside of Woodside or a Campus Pastor role within the Woodside family.
About the Role
The Lead Pastoral Resident will serve alongside a Campus Pastor to help shepherd a campus through teaching, pastoral care, leadership development, and ministry execution. Through intentional development plans, cohort participation, and rotational ministry exposure, the Resident will grow in both character and competency for pastoral leadership.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in ministry (preferred or in process)
Clear calling to pastoral leadership and church ministry
Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to mobilize others
Strong teaching, counseling, and communication skills grounded in biblical truth
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the Campus Pastor in teaching, pastoral care, prayer, and shepherding
Assist with campus strategy, operations, and ministry planning
Preach and teach in various settings, including Sunday services and classes
Participate in staff meetings, pastoral rotations, and leadership cohorts
Engage in intentional development through the Pastoral Development Cohort, Leadership Institute Intensives, and the Made to Flourish Residency Cohort
Gain exposure across all core ministry areas of the church
