The Overhead Crane Operator responsibilities include, but may not be limited to,
- Understand the safety of the Overhead Crane and operate without compromise to those safety systems.
- Responsible for operating the Overhead Crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Depresses buttons, lifts levers, and ensures load is safely attached to crane before bringing it down.
- Observes load hookup and determines safety of load.
- Manipulates or depresses crane controls, such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
- Inspects crane for defective parts, fills out daily operator checklist and notifies manager of defects or malfunctions.
- Must adhere to all safety requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- At least one year of overhead crane experience required.
- Must have positive attitude and ability to take ownership of area. Ability to work with precise limits and standards of accuracy
- Strong work ethic.
- Quick to learn and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-directed individual.
- High school diploma required.
- Manufacturing industry experience required
- Forklift experience preferred
- Positive Attitude, willingness to learn
- Strong mechanical abilities
- Walking, Standing, Sitting Kneeling, Stooping (Frequently)
- Lifting, Carrying up to 50 pounds (Frequently)
- Temperatures (Frequently)
- May require overtime with little notice before or after normal work hours or weekends.
