Job Summary Job Description Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) is seeking a Shuttle Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation between the Quissett Campus and Village Campus. The scheduled hours for this role are 1:30 PM – 6:00 PM. This is a regular, half-time, non-exempt position and is eligible for full benefits. Located in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, WHOI is dedicated to advancing knowledge of the ocean and its connection with the Earth system through a sustained commitment to excellence in science, engineering, and education, and to the application of this knowledge to problems facing society. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Reporting to the Distribution Services Manager, the essential responsibilities of this role include: Safely operates a shuttle van to transport employees and guests between the Quissett and Village campus locations and/or other designated destinations in a timely manner. Applies strong driving knowledge and vehicle-handling skills at varying speeds and in challenging conditions, including inclement weather and heavy traffic. Delivers excellent customer service to employees and guests, including greeting riders and providing onboarding assistance when needed. Completes all required paperwork accurately and consistently. Immediately reports any safety concerns to management. Conducts daily vehicle inspections and promptly reports any damage or safety concerns. Understands and follows all emergency procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent (education/experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when legally restricted). Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record. Must pass a pre-employment drug test. Must meet all requirements outlined in the Driver Safety & Motor Vehicle Policy. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Must be able to obtain a TWIC card. Physical Demands Must be able to meet the physical requirements associated with operating a shuttle van and assisting passengers as needed. Additional Job Requirements Pay Range: $22.08/hour - $28.33/hour USD The pay range provided for this position reflects the expected minimum and maximum base pay for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity and market conditions. In addition to base salary, eligible employees also receive a comprehensive benefits package.
