Position Summary: The Warehouse Manager is responsible for all aspects of the facility’s warehouse operations, including but not limited to receiving, inventory control, selecting, loading, safety, security and sanitation. They coordinate operations to ensure customer support through accurate, on-time shipments. They are also responsible for planning, organize, leading, and directing the activities of warehouse personnel. This role is accountable for the financial success of their facility. Warehouse Managers will hold a strategic role and deal with planning, coordinating, administration and general management issues.
Primary Responsibilities:
Warehousing and General Task Management
- Ensure an efficient warehouse operation which is able to fulfill operational and customer demand.
- Understand, communicate and enforce policies and procedures related to the company’s Food Safety program and audits.
- Plan, coordinate and monitor the receipt, storage and shipment of goods.
- Take an active role in workload planning and volume forecasting (i.e., staffing, equipment, space).
- Ensure efficient and effective use of warehouse space to include layout and future capacity requirements.
- Understand customer needs and ensure alignment with the needs/commitments of the company.
- Ensure the accuracy of all documentation relating to product received and product shipped, including labeling of inventory and billing charges.
- Keep damage and mis-shipment claims below budgeted levels.
- Provide a safe and clean working environment adhering to company policies and procedures, such and the Master Cleaning Schedule and company Pest Control policies and procedures, and ensure they are understood and practiced by the team at all times.
- Immediately resolve inventory discrepancies in coordination with office staff.
- Ensure inventories are accurate and control inventory levels by ensuring physical counts are conducted and reconciled with Warehouse Management System utilizing help of the warehouse team.
- Ensure product is stored in accordance with requirements, such as hazardous materials, allergens, etc.
- Respond in a timely manner to all enquiries, both internal and external.
- Resolve customer complaints and recommend procedures, if needed, to prevent future complaints.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of security in the facility.
- Ensure machinery and equipment are well maintained.
- Ensure that staff work safely to protect themselves and others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
People Management
- Proactively contribute to creating a good team atmosphere.
- Ensure company policies are communicated, administered and enforced.
- Coach, manage and develop warehouse staff and team leaders to optimize performance.
- Provide for warehouse staff performance reviews, development and/or succession planning as appropriate.
- Provide disciplinary action as needed in accordance with company policy.
- Track warehouse employee attendance and approve payroll hours.
- Communicate with warehouse staff on a regular basis to make them aware of priorities and operational requirements.
- Review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
- Take ownership of team cohesion and team development.
Budget Control
- Ensure adequate warehouse staffing within budget constraints.
- Balance the use of permanent employees with temporary employees.
- Keep RTL (Revenue to Labor) over budgeted level.
- Assist in warehouse hiring process as needed.
- Communicate with Purchasing to order warehouse supplies as needed within budget constraints.
Management
- Represent the company in a professional, enthusiastic and positive manner. · Have a collaborative approach to working with others.
- Lead and motivate a team of people to succeed by utilizing appropriate interpersonal styles including leading by example, setting objectives and defining responsibilities to give a clear sense of direction.
- Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of service.
- Continuously review ways to aid efficiency and productivity and to add value and reduce costs.
- Liaise with customers and carriers as and when required in a timely way and handle any concerns.
- Coordinate and schedule with external sub-contractors as needed.
- Arrive for each workday with sufficient time before shift begins to plan and prepare for the day’s workload and be available to work outside of business hours as needed.

- Ability to responsibly and safely operate a sit-down forklift, handcarts, pallet jacks, pallet scales, and other necessary equipment.
- Ability to load and unload product utilizing a sit down forklift.
- Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to temperature swings, noise, dust, heavy forklift/truck/pedestrian traffic. Must be able to pass agency background screens and drug screen at any time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
