Development & Donor Engagement Associate (.75 FTE) Help Shape the Next Chapter of the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library & Museum

The Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library & Museum (WWPL) is entering one of the most exciting periods in its history. Following the opening of four new permanent galleries and the launch of a new chapter in our fundraising efforts, we are expanding how we engage donors, members, sponsors, and our community.

We’re looking for an energetic, organized, and relationship-focused professional to join our team as our Development & Donor Engagement Associate.

This is an opportunity to do meaningful work that makes a visible impact. You’ll help steward donor relationships, coordinate fundraising and community events, strengthen our membership program, and support the growth of an organization committed to preserving history while engaging audiences in new and innovative ways.

Working alongside the Director of Development, you’ll help build the systems, relationships, and experiences that will shape WWPL’s future.

What You’ll Do

No two days are exactly alike. Depending on the day, you might be thanking a donor, planning an event, coordinating a fundraising mailing, preparing for a donor visit, renewing memberships, or helping welcome guests to a community program.

Key responsibilities include:

· Manage donor, member, and prospect records in Bloomerang while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of development data.

· Process charitable gifts and prepare timely acknowledgments and donor correspondence.

· Coordinate annual giving mailings, fundraising communications, and the annual development calendar.

· Lead outreach to lapsed donors and members while helping cultivate stronger long-term relationships with supporters.

· Coordinate donor stewardship, fundraising, cultivation, and community engagement events from planning through follow-up.

· Manage event logistics, including registrations, volunteers, vendors, guest communications, and event materials.

· Coordinate fundraising and event marketing with the WWPL’s Content Manager.

· Administer the WWPL’s membership program, including renewals, correspondence, newsletters, and member engagement initiatives.

· Conduct prospect research and prepare briefing materials for donor visits and fundraising proposals.

· Assist in developing sponsorship opportunities and ensuring sponsor recognition and fulfillment.

· Generate reports, mailing lists, and other information that support fundraising strategy and operations.

· Represent the WWPL professionally with donors, volunteers, members, community partners, and visitors.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with people just as much as organizing projects. You are detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional customer service and professionalism.

Successful candidates will have:

· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

· Strong organizational and project management abilities.

· A passion for building relationships and creating meaningful donor and member experiences.

· The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.

· Sound judgment and discretion when working with confidential information.

· Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

· Experience in fundraising, nonprofit organizations, membership programs, events, donor relations, hospitality, tourism, higher education, or a related field.

· Experience working with CRM systems and platforms such as Bloomerang, Mailchimp, SimpleTix, Google Workspace, or similar technologies.

Why Join Us?

If you’re looking for a position where your work will have a direct impact—and where every donor thanked, every event coordinated, and every relationship strengthened helps shape the future of the organization—we’d love to hear from you.

Compensation:

This is a .75 FTE position with an anticipated hourly pay range of $20–$25/hr., depending on qualifications and experience.
