GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Skate Rink: This job will require interacting with guests, skate rentals, maintaining and sharpening skates, maintaining skate rink, overseeing the general operation of the skate rink.

Social Amenities Attendant: Greet and interact with all guests at the Resort. Maintain, inspect and facilitate any and all amenities assigned for a given day. Activities include but are not limited to: Indoor/Outdoor Amenities (eg. Go Carts, Bumper Cars, Climbing Wall, etc.)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Sharpening/ Maintaining Skates
• Cleaning/ Maintaining the Ice Rink
• Interacting with Guests
• Issuing Skates to Guests
• Explaining and operating all indoor and outdoor amenities
• Enforcing all safety rules applicable to the specific amenity/activity
• Responsible for the happiness and welfare of the guests while they are on the Resort property
• Participate in keeping all areas of the facility neat, clean, and safe at all times.
• Be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Must be able to work well in a team environment.

• Must be able to take direction from the Skate Shop Manager and complete all tasks as assigned.

• Must have the ability to recognize problems as they arise and bring them to the attention of the Manager.

• Must be able to assume a positive and active role at the rink, even while working under potentially stressful conditions (weather, upset or injured participants, etc.).
• An ability to interact and communicate well with others is essential.

• Ability to understand and carry out verbal and/or written instructions efficiently and effectively.

• Be able to follow safety guidelines and exercise good judgment in all aspects of responsibility.

• Must be physically strong enough to lift and move heavy objects, such as hockey nets.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must be 16 years of age/ Some High School or GED equivalent

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction and multiplication.
